Gill comes in regularly and speaks to staff across all departments to get a feel for what’s happening and identify any issues or areas where we need to act. As Managing Director, I need to step back from any disputes in case they escalate and I need to be the last line of decision making, and so it is helpful for me to know that I can leave that in Gill’s hands and that her and her team will do the best to get a resolution, before it needs to involve me.
